Default Tarox 6 pot or K Sport 8 pot??

What's the perceived wisdom here on these 2. Car is a 430hp classic track and fast road use. Not a daily. What's everyone's preference and why?. Tia

AP Racing. The others are just compromises.

I had 356mm Ksports on my newage & felt no better than the OEM Brembos just with less fade over a good few hard stops.

As important as calipers are so is the right pad and disk set up. I've ran quite a few different set ups including Tarox 6 pots. The discs and pad were more suited to track so from cold were shocking and made so much noise, never mind the brake dust. Was going to change them but have gone a different brake set up now.

Another factor is the cost of replacements.

Agreed

I would even go as far to say that it's more just the pads alone!

I've ran ksports for years on track cars evos and a scoob so I would recommend them, can't see the tarox being bad either. Personally I'd do a little research into the 6/8 pot one isn't better than the other, imo they just offer a different braking feel if that.

Had the 304mm mono blocks on my v5 sti track car with carbotec xp10 pads NEVER had fade.

But, the pad choice is limited/hard work to find. So I've gone back to brembos, pad choice is massive, will be trying the RC6 pads in those, hoping I haven't down graded

Thanks for replies. I have a set of each on 2 different cars that are both undriveable at the mo and going to sell one car hence the ask. Want to keep the best option. Anyone had both the K sports or tarox with any insight? Absolutely agree with the AP but no budget for those. Got them on my lotus and tvr. Superb.

Is there a size difference with what you have? Typically the 8 pot ksports are the bigger ones that only 18's go over 356mm etc, I run 17s so max size is around 330mm discs

Had a quick Google and the Tarox are a more expensive set up

I would say both more than capable for your needs just watch out with the sizes, I'd pick the best condition caliper and discs and keep them

I'm on 17" on the car I'm keeping, it has the K sports 330mm on, rizla paper clearance on the caliper. Valid points. Thank you. I will check condition wise but the other car is on 18" with the tarox set up. Have a sneaky suspicion that it has 356mm discs so maybe my decision is made already having to stick to the K sports. Both set ups are excellent condition from memory .

Tarox have very poor pad option coverage generally whereas the Ksports use a more generic AP Racing fitment so huge amount of choice
