Default How to remove the pad pins on a 2005 Blobeye

I was checking the rear 2 pot brakes on the car yesterday and noticed the pad pins had cross heads on them. Do they drift out of are they screwed in. They seamed tight so I would find out first.

They just drift out..I normally just use a small headed screwdriver and they just come right out!

Depends which calipers you're talking about , the Subaru WRX 2 pots have pins like you describe , the head looks like a pozidrive screw head , they are like that so you can turn them in place to get the hole in the right place to put the thin locating metal bar through both pins , the pins should be a loose fit

The Sti Brembo's , there are 2 types , one is held in with R clips , the other are hit in place , and are held in by a spring washer

The only ones that are held into the caliper tight , are the last ones

Hope this helps
Cheers Ian
