Default One rear brembo rusty disk, one face

Hi

We noticed the outer side of one rear disk with brembo caliper had stayed rusty. All sides of the other 3 disk are shiny. Quite a few miles were put on the car the day this was noticed

If I try to free up that suspect piston is it likely to continue working or in anyone else's experience with the seal leak?

The car doesn't see much use and this seizure is very recent

Thanks for any help

Once it's gone, it's gone. Rebuild with new piston and seals, or replace whole caliper.

Hi
It won't be that drastic , the brembo calipers suffer with corrosion under the pads plates bolted into the caliper at the ends of the pads , corrosion builds up underneath them , and pushes them away from the caliper body , this then makes the pads tight in the calipers , it's probably this that's happened , take the pads out , you could bend the plates slightly to get something under them to scrape away the corrosion , put some copper slip under them before bending them back into place , and refit the pads
Cheers Ian
