1998 Japanese import Version 4 STI with Subaru embossed 4 pot front brakes and single pot rear sliding calipers (266mm vented discs).
I was very lucky and got given the EBC blue pads when they were being tested here. They are on front and back, I think they're very good. Just rebuilt my calipers front and rear with new pistons and seals. Everything seems to be sliding properly.
The rear discs have never got nearly as hot as the fronts, and the pads have almost no wear.
Could I put orange stuff pads on the rear to increase the rear braking torque, and would this be an economical way of balancing the brakes a little more? I haven't been to the track yet but would like to some time.
BTW I have fitted an ALK, brand new KYB AGX struts and had an alignment recently.
Please let me know if this idea is dangerous/stupid/already known to work.
I did search but didn't find it being done.
