Default backing plates

has anyone taken the backing plates off of the rear brakes on car ???

or modified them in any way ??

A bit difficult when the handbrake shoes etc are attached to them.

It is possible to drill out the spot welds and remove the outer sections, although most brake conversions don't require it.

Do you mean the outer sections?

Mine are done, sharp 8mm drill on the spot welds, clean up and paint the whole lot with Hammerite black.
