Spraying wheels matte black
Hi guys, I assume this is where j need to ask this?
Basically my girlfriend is buying some second hand wheels for her 2010 Seat Ibiza and wants us as a project to spray them matte black. They're in good nick so refurb isn't an issue beforehand. It's a case of sanding off the old laquer to toughen up and spraying. Or so I think?
So if it were a typical gloss finish, I'd do what I have in the past, ie primer, sand, spray and laquer. But for matte black, what do you do as lawyering would surely make them glossy?
Help/advice welcome guys, cheers
PS she's insistent in doing it the rattle can way not powder coating, I've already tried

Plastidip is the way forward easy to apply and peel it off when not wanted..

Just paint it as normal but then use matt lacquer

and if she is insisting , tell her to do it herself

I know Halfrauds do a matte lacquer but their rattle cans etc are coming in at £8-10 a can for their own brand stuff. Surely somewhere does them cheaper or at least better stuff for a similar price?

Do not use Halfords lacquer! it's too funny and does not set correctly, refurbed 2 sets of wheels in the past with it and both sets had lacquer peel after one wash. Lots of good E-Tech primer, paint and lacquer sets on eBay for much less than Halfords and they have never failed me.
Plenty of sanding is the key to a good finish.

There are cans on eBay that you spray straight onto the wheel.
I used it on my old car and have used a different colour on the Scoob. No issues what-so-ever.
