Question Help needed: New disks & pads

Hi all,

I need a new set of front disks and pad for road use only (some spirited driving ofc) this is my first impreza and first time of changing brakes.

Looked online but lot of pages are old now.
It's a 2003 wrx sti blob.
I can see performance friction are well rated but looking for something a bit cheaper.
Any help appreciated

there,s a huge choice for pads bud. one thing i will say is be ready in case you get sheared bolts on your brembos. mine is in just now and my mechanic has had 2 already. and he discovered one of the fronts has been helicoiled before as well! what happens is because the bolts are steel and the calipers aluminium they "weld" together with all the heat and cold cycles your brakes go through, a proccess i believe is called galvanic corrosion. when you try to crack the bolts and undo them it just chews up the soft aluminium and destroys the thread. then you have to drill them out and helicoil them. i bought 2 helicoil kits for the front and rears and new bolts for front and back just in case. glad i did! just for your info the front bolts are M12x 1.50 mm and rears are M10x 1.50mm. scoobyworx or godspeed sell the bolts. as for disks ive had godspeeds on both of my scoobs and have been fine with no problems. i had the kevlar pads last time from him and as a normal street pad with occasional blast they will be fine for you.

Thanks for the replys. I had been looking at the Black Diamond drilled & grooved or the EBC discs and pads but both seem to get mixed reviews.

I don't mind buying a set of discs and different branded pads if there is a a better set up say good discs but top set of pads, i'm looking to spend about £500 on set of front discs and pads.

far better discs than BD in that case............

the likes of the DBA T3's would be my first choice and within your budget, happy to advise on pads als depending on your exact requirements
