Default aftermarket bigger brakes on WRX?

Hi all, looking at needing new discs and pads soon. This has me thinking about upgrading the calipers and larger discs. My dilemma is that I have a the prodrive GT1 wheels and the brembos will not fit under them... Tried spacers but this makes the wheels rub. Anyone know if K-sports etc will fit under these wheels? Thanks

Don't bother with ksport, they dont have dust seals so arn't great.

D2 are better but you can't go wrong with AP's

Thanks for the reply.. Do you know what models and sizes fit under these wheels? I beleive the offset and clearance is the same as the stock WRX wheels so if they go under them I'm sure they will fit under my GT1s.
I have spent quite a bit trying to improve the 4 pots to no avail. Braided lines, gulf RF800 fluid, EBC yellows, EBC vortex discs and a brake stopper. Daily driving is OK but push them on a bit and they cannot cope. Thanks again.

AP's are very good , so are Brembo's ,

this is a very good kit for the money , calipers are a one piece monoblock caliper so very rigid , we are offering this kit with various specs of pads for £999 , or with our race spec disc with our new hook grooves , and powder coated calipers any colour for £1100

You have the 18" GT1's? Are you sure the STI brembo's don't fit?

I've got the 330mm AP 4 pot kit that Ian (Godspeed brakes) sells on my GB270 and they fit behind the wheels no problem.

I have CP5000 AP calipers under stock WRX wheels. They just catch the raised lettering of "AP" on the calipers. Pretty sure that I could have driven a short way and they would have ground them off. Probably needed 2mm clearance. In the end though I just fitted 5mm spacers all round. So the car now has the same track as if it had STi wheels fitted. This is with 315mm discs fitted but I envisage no issue with fitting 330mm discs either.

Cheers for the replies all. Yes the 18" GT1s. I will confess I have not tried the STi brembos behind them but everything I have read tells me they won't fit. I beleive they came in two different offsets and tbh anything further than what it is running I am sure will rub. I purchased some 15mm spacers and the wheels rub like mad. I think this is due to it being a wagon so the body isn't as wide!?

I am considering ditching the EBCs and getting some Godspeed discs and carbone Lorraine pads to see how this combination works instead of bigger calipers etc.

I have the GT1's in 18" on the sti hatch (8.5 wide et53). I have had KSport 356mm 8 pots and AP 6 pots 355mm behind them no problem. I think the WRX use a narrower 7.5" wide but the offset should be the same.

My GT1s are the ET53, 7.5j, 5x100version. Aparantly there was also an ET48 version that did clear brembos but they seem to be rare. The Subaru 4 pots only have 7mm clearance to the wheel so I'm certain STi brembos will not fit. I guess in theory all I need is some 5mm spacers but this will probably mean longer wheel nuts?

Scrap that.. even the ET48 seem to have issues with the STi Brembos!
