15mm Hubcentric Spacers - cutting oe studs down?
I have a set of 15mm hubcentric spacers. When bolted to the hubs the oe studs are longer than required and need to be around 10mm shorter so as not to foul the wheel, which does not have additional recesses to allow for this.
So, I am going to have to either use shorter studs or cut the oe ones down.
I would imagine a hacksaw is a long drawn out process but with very little heat build up, but the quick way would be to thread a die down and cut the studs with a metal cutting disc on the grinder. What I am thinking here is that the heat may affect the strength of the original wheel studs?
Any thoughts?
Wayne.

Hi Wayne,
The heat from a grinder won't affect them , they will get hot but won't cause any problems .. grinding them is the best way. Put some tape over them so you know where to cut so you don't go too short .... 10mm off is correc
