Default XXR 530 8.75x18" NEW TYRES

I have a set of nearly new XXR 530 wheels with less than 1,000 mile old tyres on. Maxxis MAZ1 tyres 245x40x18 fitted all round. Really aggressive stance.

£700 on collection.

Shame the tyres are 245 too wide for my Hawkeye.
Will fit a hatch really well!

Adz, how much meat is there behind the hub? Could they be machined down to say ET25 or 30?? i.e is there enough behind the hub to take 5-10mm of metal off?

Morning mate, please see attached a couple of pictures for the back of the wheel I grabbed on the way out the house. I would suggest there is meat on the hub but I can't say I'm an expert in aftermarket wheels. Adam

Ooooh it looks like there could be enough to take 5mm off....I've got a few outgoings at the min, but if they're still here when I've cleared them, I'll take them off your hands

If you do that just be careful you don't go too far, as the material left behind each wheel bolt will be significantly decreased and wheel mountings compromised. The wheels bolt holes are machined to suit the offset from the factory. Also don't forget to re-machine the spiggot ring diameters.

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works. GLWTS. Lovely wheels.

Cheers mate, I know that they're designed to be a certain way so would be careful not to take too much off, even just pinching a few mm would be helpful. As women say, every mm counts. if they don't they're lying.

There's no way in hell I'd be machining material off some wheels. Buy the proper size and stop being daft. Wheel failure at high speed is no laughing matter especially for the sake of saving a small bit of cash. Have a word with yourself.

Hi there

I wouldn't do this and I wouldn't machine anything from wheels

Those wheels we are run on the wagon which has have narrow wings at rear and here is picture how they looks from rear

We run -2.00 camber at front and -1.5 at rear

Thanks,Jura

Hi there

Yes they should fit easily, with bit of camber and they should fit easily on any WRX or STI

Thanks,Jura

As above don't touch the material from wheels, simply is not worth it

Thanks,Jura

Tell you what, find me the proper size and I'll buy them. You can only get them ET20
