Default Help

Hi there everyone, my name is Linden n I own a 94 WRX. Im having a few problems at the mo n I was wondering if there was anyone that would be so kind as to go out with me n help diagnose my problem. Its had alot spent on it this year with replacing things that I think will stop it stuttering. Today it had a new lamba sensor fitted n it still stutters!! im tearing my hair out its really starting to annoy me.
I live in Glasshoughton Castleford, so if theres anyone who knows anything about engines n lives close n can help me I would much appreciate your help.

Thanks.

By "loads of garages" do you men reputable subaru specialists or local garages that deal with any number of types of car ??

Do you have a local subaru group that you can get advice from, have a look at the clubs section..

https://www.scoobynet.com/clubs-409/...bc&daysprune=2

Try looking for posts by Ronjeramy on here, he lives near you and might be able to point you to someone local.........try a PM

There's a subaru garage in Featherstone near me n my cars been there a few times but nothing has been solved.
The lamba sensor got replaced today at a side garage that got recommended to me by a friend. Drove off n it still stutters.

Things that ive had changed,
Spark plugs,
Coil packs,
Throttle position sensor,
Lamba sensor,
MAF sensor,
Exhaust system,
Oil filter,
Fuel filter,
Cam belt with pulleys n tensioners,
Water pump,
Oil changed.

Im running out of options. I put 100% belief that it would be the lamba sensor, so im really disappointed that its still stuttering.

Jesus that's a lot of parts.........mine stuttered when it had a boost pipe leak and the fuel / air ratio went pants

Personally I'd go for someone with a good knowlege of ECU map / sensor stuff when on the move and logging looking for values that are out of range......... Try e-mailing someone who travels and see if he's going to be in your area (racedynamix, FB tuning, jolly green monster, enginemapper etc)

Did you PM Ronjeramy ?

It has thrown a few codes at me, 42, 23. But at the moment there are no codes coming up at all since the Throttle position sensor got fitted so thats stumped me a bit.
Ive just PM'd Ronjeramy.
Oh n its had an Engine temp sensor fitted also

Just looked at the MY of your car....doesn't have an OBDII port IIRC, sorry I misread the year.

I think you will have to find a local scooby specialist to help, hopefully Mike (Ronjeramy) or someone local could help.....I see you havn't done anything with the boost control solenoid.

I connected the 2 green wires under the steering wheel n cleaned it with carb cleaner, but it just seemed to make it worse.

There's a place at Hebden Bridge called "Pennine Subaru", I've never been but it's a bit Marmite allegedly, some people have had very good service and some people think that they are a bunch of clowns....

Darren has a place in Northallerton which I think is called DL services / motorsport and does work with Harvey on here. Apart from one instance regarding fitting an up-pipe I don't think I've heard a bad word about him.

The other place I had in mind was Sheffield Subaru Services which seems to be a favourite haunt of quite a few SN members and a search should show up their details.

I'm trying to think of any more local to you without travelling to places like API / Scoobyclinic as I think you need to find a place that knows the classic inside and out

I've tried nearly every tuner in the north at some stage and I've not been 100% happy with most of them. Zack at Precious Metal in Knottingley has been good and saved me a good sum of money once with a spot-on diagnosis. I've never heard anything bad about Richard Henry and he'll be my next port of call!
Could be fuel pump, let us know how you go on.

Is there a way of testing to see if the fuel pump is at fault?

I've had a similar problem with mine and it turned out to be a loose connection to the fuel pump, for some reason it was worse when it was cold.
+1 for Richard Henry.....very good them lads
