Wishes4Kids
Anyone else doing the Donnington track event for Wishes4kids this year?
It's Friday 29th July.
Clip from when the WYIOC did it in 2006: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4rHNaHKzcA
I've signed up to take the GT-R down this year to give some kids a thrill to take their mind of their ills for a short time at least.
I'm sure Russell (info@wishes4kids.co.uk) would like to hear from you if you fancy it.

I'm going
Andy there is no cost just your time and fuel. Just helping some people enjoy themselves, its not on the circuit but using car parks etc, good fun though, but remember its not racing.

Yup - as mentioned no cost - just your time, fuel and tyres. Defo no racing and it's not a track day.
Last 2 times I've been there, there were some cones in the car park like a "sprint" challange and then onto the back loop of the race circuit for a few fast laps before bringing them back in. It was only the back part of the circuit to give the kids a real thrill but not the full Donnington track since it would be too dangerous for them....
It's defo a very rewarding day. Checkout these links for a better idea:

And if you need any more convinving, look at the little lad in the passenger seat in this clip - brings tears to your eyes - he was so ill bless him

You must contact Russell at Wishes4Kids in advance though and NOT just turn up on the day. It takes a bit of logistics by Russell to organise each year so we have to keep it simple for him. Drop him an email - he's a really nice guy.
Are we going to meet up on the way down?
Last time we all met at Wooledge Services.

Russell is a guy that does it in his part time and does lots of events for them.
He's a top bloke and will get back to you.
Paul - my old 2002 bugeye has gone. I ran out of time and money so it got stripped. I think the shell was used by someone doing a rally so it's probably at a scrapheap in the sky somewhere
On a brigther note, we still have the WRX Wagon as a family car and the GT-R is going great guns now it's a year old.
Hope you get yours back to full burn again!!
