50k for a hatchback
With a **** over stated dash, I guess you could reach those figures with a lot less money spent inclucing cosworth pistons, rods and cosmetic gaskets.

What warranty came with Big Arfs? I guarantee it won’t be as comprehensive as that found on a new Subaru, the CS400 could actually be a cheap car to own (if you can stump up the cash in the first place) think about it, the rarity of will keep the depreciation to a minimum and you can thrash it to death and Subaru pick up the bill for any blow ups or mechanical woes.
All I need now is £50K, there’s always something that spoils a sweet deal.

to be honest i do like the new sti hatch as i was going to buy one,and i love the new cosworth one too.but the 50k price tag is just stupid for something that can be made very easily from a standered sti for just over half the cost.on the other hand when you mention warranty, for the spec i have on mine and the price i paid for it,then i would go for mine any day of the week and if anything did go wrong i would have plenty of change left in my pockets to repair it for the next 10 years before i got to the cost of the new cosworth one.
Personally I’d prefer yours and use some of the money left over on a diesel run around, best of both worlds.

The Nismo Vspec edition is a stupid crazy price ! And if you were to buy all the nismo parts to fitted to the Vspec plus a standard Gtr it would cost you even more than the 120k price tag! The seats are something crazy like 14k a pair and the brakes are over 30k!! Like a Gtr is standard anyway!

all the main tuners will do something for the hatch after all it needs all the help it can get, but no amount of bolt ons can change the fact it's not been a success for Subaru, you can tell this by how few are on the roads. There is a silver lining to this however, at least it will keep demand high (and therefore prices) for used 'proper' shaped saloons.

Even I did the maths on a hatch project last autumn, but £7K for a cheap hatch, £3K for a body-kit and £2K for a proper cage left me with mine as the 400 bit....
Sadly not sure about the job situation, so chicken'd out.
