right guys, sorry couldnt make the meet been busy, the bottomend is stripped. my shells are fooked, 3 sets out of 4!
1 has a piece which has shattered off, badly scored and has the eges of the shell kinked. (if that makes sense?)
The other 2 are intacted, but are a copper colour from the heat and drying out?
The rod on cylinder 1 were the ****ed shell was from needs replacing.
The oil pump had some play, and also i found that 4 out of the 5 screws on the bk were loose? 2 of which were wound right out?
well ive got the money for new parts so will be on wit it this weekend, think ive been quite lucky really as i would say "it wouldnt have been long before the rod let go and would have come thro the block.
all in all im chuffed and cant wait to get it bk together.
just thought id share my findings with you guys
Any advice guys as to what to be careful with when building bk up? whats this about some clearance in the bottomend has to be right?
thankyou. wayne

How's the crankshaft ?
Plastigauges are little dobbries that squish when insert into main/big end bearing and torqued up.... on removal you measure how wide and this tells you the clearance.
Sounds like a "duff" build, thread lock missing (?).
