Hey Up Lynz, I'll put the artwork together no worries, but I'd be using a third party to produce, damn good and reliable third party that would do us a good deal.
I'll have to look into it for ya.

Are we talking about the same bloke who's provided them free for the past 3 years, did the Mcrae / Burns stickers for charity, did us proud with the caravan for a few bob that didn't even cover his Ink costs (never mind the vinyl and time?).... plus done a load more stuff for £0 that I can't even begin to remember?

He's big enough (and ugly enough) to defend himself, but there may be a load of reasons he's not posted or in a position to do it?

I think I have a Hi Res club logo that Sticky designed that I can email...

TBH, I don't think we had more than 50 last time.... Plus they were free, so that has to be taken into account....

Appreciate the points and sentiments you've made mate. No issues with them. But... an open forum criticism of any member (I'm not getting into this core member crap) is not necessary or helpful. Especially a member who's given so much for the past 5-6 years....

just contacted sticky, he is happy to do the stickers for the club, but no longer as a favour and strictly as a business item, which given the contents of this thread and some of the comments, i can totally agree with.

Stickers will be £1 each from shytot.

NB... Thank you Sticky, appreciate your time.

I too agree,

I hope when/if you read this Sticky you know that not all the comments on here are shared by everyone I think, hope, most value yours and obviously shytots support over the many years. Most organisations would offer honoury membership, not just to be simply dismissed so easily.

Sorry mate.

If these are just a simple design on cut vinyl, i would be happy to help. Just need to know a rough design. What was last years like?

Paul, your personal issues with certain people do not equate to everyone else's.

Your definition or vision of what a member is or should be also differ.

Members come in all shapes, sizes, colours, opinions and personal circumstances. Who the hell are you, me or anybody else to determine how much time, effort or money an individual puts in before they make the grade???

We've always prided ourselves on the fact that someone who puts in a few hours is JUST AS VALUABLE as those that can afford 50.

People are now obviously starting to be criticised because they've taken a more back seat role. People feel they're being scrutinised or added to the clipboard for what they do and how they do it. Then marked accordingly.

We always said wouldn't happen. But it's happening.

From a personal perspective, the reason why I've pulled back has many, many reasons. Though widely known by many people (including you), it shouldn't be raised. What has it to do with you or anyone else? Why should I feel that I'm suddenly not contributing effectively? What's wrong with doing a little bit here or little bit there....

Unfortunately, you're starting to make me feel that way and that, my friend, is really sad.

That 'micro management' or simple degradation of our values by questioning and scoring my (and others) recent involvement will drive away both good club people and those wanting to be good club people (or make them shy away from doing anything positive) because ultimately they feel they're being judged on the hours they put in.....

Some people may disagree and feel that a more 110% attitude is required, but my answer is this:

This club, any club, should be about enjoyment. It doesn't matter if that's 1% or 100%.... each percentage should be valued and praised... if it isn't, then there is no enjoyment and no club.

All IMO.

I appreciate I've been a bit vocal recently, but I make no apologies for wanting to defend this club, it's people and it's values.....

I've openly said on another thread that I felt you and Debs were the best members this club has had for sheer enthusiasm and down right commitment. So it's nothing personal. I just feel unnecessary posts out of the blue for no reason (i.e I've not seen Sticky make one negative post....so can only conclude it's a personal thing) means he simply doesn't deserve ANY criticism regarding his club commitment, past, present or future....

As for this Thursday, I'm afraid work means I'll be late home plus, Sean may have to be taken to Brighouse for his football training and I'm out on a works doo Friday, so all in all it's looking unlikely. But I have no probs meeting up to discuss any issues.

As you say I'm no longer chairman (so feel happy to voice my opinion a little more..), but you were fully aware what was required and what was to come... I'll say the same to Lynz if and when she picks up some or all of the reigns...

As for your job, I have the utmost respect to the physical and demanding nature... especially coupled with it's your own business... Mine... well managing the interesting security bits of a multi million £ bank whilst going through and just being bought by Santander in the current financial climate means my work is cut out for the next 12-18 months... That's if I have a job over the coming 12-18 months.. But that's another story that I'll save for a pint.....

Alan thats what i meant if someone does'nt give u a reply about a club thing like the windows sticker then u can only presume that they are too busy ..thats why i said let someone else do them.we just want window stickers mate not a letture from other members, look mate i could say the same thing about the stelvio trip we saved 2 grand up to go on this trip then found out it was'nt getting offerd out to all club members.not really as welcoming as u say is it this club, when u really dig deep.

So we do it next year, I've spent too much in 2009 and it's only February

By then we can sort one or two groups, and give it a try.

And for me Sticky has always done the club proud, and 'tis a shame it's ended up as a bun fight. Whether busy or p*ssed off we will get them soon enough for the show season.

All imho.

There's several things wrong here....

You didn't presume he was busy. You assumed and said he wasn't interested and said we needed another Sticker man without either giving us an explanation why or us getting Sticky's view...You just threw on to the scrap heap years of his club effort and time in a second and without much of a thought. Put simply, it wasn't nice.

No issue with this IF Sticky couldn't deliver... we simply didn't know. Even on a good day we can wait weeks for him to come up with the goods.... but we've always smiled and laughed... 'that's Sticky'.

Not a lecture. Just Facts. I don't deal with rumour. He's a mate. He should be given the benefit. Lynz got in touch with him eventually. But by this time it was too late, the knives were out.

This it total crap. The trip was always open. Ther was never any talk to keep it 'secret'. Why should we? This has been done to death already and due to simple logisitcs that everyone understood, could only be taken up by 5 ish cars and / or 8 ish people MAX (a couple of bikes are no real issue due to space).... This was borne out from the first trip where this was the number that went from a total club allocation where everyone was asked to come. We even offered a savings club FFS! If any more had gone on that trip, if would have been a lot worse than it was and quite possibly a waste of £2k and 8 days holiday... In the end it was perfect and 5 ish cars and a few Bikes were always down to go from the previous trip so simple maths and logic would say there was no need or way it could be offered up... If I'd been going and more cars had been going (regardless of who it was).. I'd have contemplated pulling out because it would have been a much slower trip... I really can't see how this keep cropping up.

It's nothing to do with not welcoming anybody. Every trip we've ever done has been welcoming. Saying anything different only slanders and be-littles the hard work and dedication many people have put in to make some special runs where no one was exluded... Sticky has been at the forefront of the vast majority of club runs. From his superb route planning to the treasure hunts.... Stelvio was no different.

oh my, please can we discuss this at a meeting, this is getting to be a bit too much for open forum to be quite honest. there are a lot of issues from the past raising their heads again (stelvio).

now its unfortunate that neither alan or i can get to the EOM tomorrow, how about we have another mid-month meet at the ship as per the one in January? It was a really good atmosphere, and despite me spreading my fluey germs around, we had a good laugh, it felt like we were a club again tbh.

now i'm going to suggest thursday 12th february at the ship, how are people for that? .. alan...i'd really like you there! if you cant make it, we'll look at another date

Lynz. Things are getting a little passionate..... there's no animosity between me and Paul (from my side certainly)... just differences of opinion.

It's been a lot worse in the past around here between folk!!

Anyway, he's a bloody coalman, from Barnsley with arms like popeye and I'm an IT Techie from Wakefield... No contest from me in the arm wrestling stakes, but I've got him beat with working mobile phones and the like (Oh, and good looks)

If Lynz has already contacted Sticky regarding these and he's happy to do them, why do we need to contact any other companies? Surely we just need to tell him how many, and let him crack on with the order
