Default Wheel Choice Dilema!!?!

After seeing Rick on Saturday and his diagnosis of needing 4 new wheels Ive been looking into what wheels I should get.

Always liked the Speedline 6 spoke but hard to get hold of, do I do the leg work and find some or do I go for a copy from Revolution.

So its a set of Speedlines and then pay for a good refurb!!! Total £400-£600???

Or New set of Revolution Millenium(Similar to Speedline) wonderfully photoshop'd on to my car £500

Cheers guys, all giving me the answer that I probably knew was the right one. Im thinking of offering a Cash insentive to anyone who can find me a good set anywhere. Anyone one up for the challenge?

Am I right in saying that these wheels although similiar are not the same as the on the WRC Scoob?! Are these ST2s? Whats the difference?
Big can of worms just opening I fear!!

The rears were badly buckled with flat spots, and the front passenger was buckled and twisted.

The rears caused vibrations through the cars at certain speeds. Didnt know how bad they were till it was up on the ramp!!

Right its narrowed down to
Speedline ST2s or some crazy coloured Rays (would prob powder coat gold at later date) Hopefully the Rays would go over my 6pots!?!

Need to make the decision this weekend so I need your opinions super fast.
Pleeeeeaaaaassssseeeeee. Both quality of wheels and looks.

Given your car's performance choose the widest to get a wider tyre on ?

ST2 is right to me, but Rays aren't shabby either...

Sorry not helping.

DunxC

P.S. Just been on Speedlinecorse site (poor !), and 18" magesium is the only one shown, and Revolution are the nearest dealers listed ! HTH

Thanks Dunx its the 18" magnesium ones that they stopped make years ago and the ones with huge offset so that they wont fit a standard classic.

Woe thanks for the offer Dunx. But I think the ST2s are a safer option so think I may have made my decision.
Keep some traditional Speedlines going for a bit longer.
Cheers again.

Interesting thread.
I don't think I'd be too fussed about having genuine ST2's myself, as there may be a chance the replicas go over Brembo's. But thanks for the names of the replica's.

Why not, plenty of genuine ST2 wheels on pistonheads....

I have two sets...one set is the lightweight Magnesium versions too

Not when I looked yesterday and again today. There were two sets that have been sold. How can you tell when they are the lightweight versions, apartr from lifting them up?

Some people haev ST2's go over brembo's, some say no. So I just think replicas might go over them as replica's always have some differences to the originals.

The replicas would be better if they didn't have "REVOLUTION" embossed into the spoke.

This is how you can tell they are Mgnesium versions

They have the Mg on the wheel code behind the spokes.

Hi, reviving an ancient thread: does anyone know whose car the white GC8 is?
Would like to ask the owner something about his harness bar.
Thanks!
