Sad i didn't make the alps ended up in A&E INSTEAD
not a happy bunny now had to dop out of the alps trip as i felt crap last week, come to Friday and i couldn't walk or move for that matter... started like a flu type thing head ache and shivvers, then my muscles tarted to be really painful friday it felt like every muscle had been severly pulled, from ma fett to my neck, had to crawl to the loo called doc who siad go to A&E do not pass go. oh ****. i thought...gets in and doc ran some blood tests, comes back after two hours wel puzzled, there's an emzime present when you damage muscle tissue, (CK count) the level should be 100-120 yours is 2,290 holy crap no wonder your in agony she says... i thinks... anyhow i'm still in here with no sign of being released... legs don't feel too bad but i can't use my hands hardly at all, its as if they have no muscle in them, arms feel the same... very bizare they think its post viral myositis, and apparently this can be a bit iffy, and related to autoimune system problems... now i'm even more worried... bloody type when I booked the week of too.
Anyhow 8am in the morning I'm on the phone to BUPA to go to methley park se as I'm paying them a fortune each year.
Thank god our lass brought the laptop up to the ward...

Hope you get well soon Daz. I have been in Methley Park and they really do look after you...
As for being 40 and everything going wrong you are so right!!! I thought i was now fit and well after my episode earlier this year..But..
I had to visit the docs after The Rising Sun at Nostell and have found something else so i was sent straight to Methley Last Friday and am just waiting for a phone call to have open surgery either this Wednesday or next...Not good but things can only get better Daz..but Methley is the right place to be as both me and Mick well know !!
Keep your chin up

Registrar just been in and said level now 2800+ so going up; they hoping it won't cause any kidney probs so have to pee in a tin every time from now and they are making me blow into a lung testing thing every hour to see if i'm getting weaker.. marvelous! Talk about Pete Tong... If its higher in morning they reckon they can give a high dose steroid injection to counteract the weakness.... My arms already feel like poppeye...
feels like i've gone mad doing weights and the day after you can't move, very strange...
Mobile broadband working ok though ;-)

I'm waiting the see mr consultant now seee if they'll let me out... or at least can transfer to Nuffield BUPA in leeds, they worldn't let me leave in case my breathing was affected by the muscle damage but that looks like its not going to happen now...

Just don't squeeze too hard, Popeye
You'll be OK in Nuffield Leeds - it's where my Dad had his triple bypass. a bit different to a normal ward - single rooms, carpets, menu with wine / beer list and quite a lot of the staff were NHS bods grabbing some temping to supplement the wages...
Get well soon
Andy
