Well thanks to Kojak and R N Golden,
We had a test drive in the new STI this afternoon !
Yeah lovely weather for tail-gating a Suzuki micro-hatch in the drizzle
Got one chance to use (some of) the power available, and it has deep lungs... I guess that's the extra 500 cc showing their presence !
Loads of room in the back, a bit cramped in the "boot" for three dogs....
Ride quality seemed good, so overall a nice car....
BUT ! As I'd need to find around £17,000 to swap
I sadly won't be getting one before Xmas... or after come to that !

P.S. At least in black or silver it looks really "funky" blue seems to let it down a little, or was that just the awful weather....

I must admit that the WR Blue doesn't seem to cut the mustard for me either. I do like the white though, although parked next to a white EvoX there'd be no competition, the three diamonds would win hands down. I am warming to the new Scoob though.
I enjoyed the wet weather today, but then again, I was drifting a Formula Ford around the Craner Curves whilst avoiding the numpties who kept spinning them, much to the irritation of the instructor

Have just read Jap. Perf. from cover to cover ! (weather !)
But £34,000 for a 350 bhp T20 seems alot of money for a nice car....
I wonder how much performance that much money could wring out of mine....
Exe-tc suspension £2500
Some more R888's £1000
Rear links, etc £1000
2.35 conversion £3500
CLUTCH ! ! ! £1000
3" exhaust system £1000
Total £10,000
So about £16,000 cheaper to keep mine !
Oh well I suppose I might win the lottery some time soon ?

Dunx was that the 08 T20?
Iain told me he'd done a new T20, but there's no link on his site...
I'd also add that the T series (20 & 25) were never about gaining big HP. They were about driveability.
The packages they put together then were (and still are) exceptional driving cars. You can of course buy the bits separately, but the tweaking done by Rich, Curtis and the Powerstation team to the JDM version (this is important as it offers quick rack, twin scroll turbo plus other JDM enhancements) turned the package into a very capable car. The money has gone into mating the best packages and extensive research and development in fine tuning them.
A few people have driven mine and were suitably impressed. If I sell mine in the near future, I'll give you a shout....you won't need a lottery win...

Also had a test drive yesterday afternoon - didn't know you were supposed to book them but managed to blag a quick run round.
It's a different ride (softer but not soft) and the I-drive gives you three different beasts. Obviously, the demo was tight as a gnat's chuff so would be better when loosened up but have got used to my PPP version so 4krpm seems late for the rush to come in...
Could be tempted as well as looking at Legacys but I'm not planning on letting the thieving gits in the treasury relieve me of that amount of tax
Might just have to wait for the higher spec version with PPP to come out and then decide - are the extras a bargain for the money or stick with standard and put only the bits on that I want...

Believe me, with what mine's worth I would need a lottery win !
I just felt that the cost of changing vastly out-weighed the benefits !
IMHO

I suppose I'm thinking about changing before mine's dropped too much and the cost to change becomes a joke - if I could keep up with some loan payments similar to what I've been on for this one then it's not too painful
