and we've even had the odd road car off (one or two?) due to .... 'exuberance'... but that's track driving..Pound for pound you can't beat it. Especially with a track car that you can drive to 10/10ths rather than 7/10ths the pressure of driving your daily drive....
I think Blyton's perfectly OK to take any car around.. there's been plenty of machinery round there that's had no issues at all... We've never sold the track as Silverstone smooth, and it depends on how far you push it... Donut, slide and go off track then you're asking for it (as you are anywhere)... circling at a good, smooth pace and there should be no issues at all... I'd probably reccomend some track wheels as the concrete bumps and general makeup of the track is designed for testing proper competition cars so is designed to be upsetting and challenging... Overall I'd say we've had 240+ cars around there and 99%+ have driven there done some rounds and driven home.. others had to have a few sets of tyres due to 'exuberance'

Its ok when you have a track car, such as the recently established WYPOC
as they are set up for hooning and punishment. But IMO not so good if you've just picked up a new car with immaculate bodywork. With a car like the one Stew has just bought, I personally wouldn't want to ruin the looks for a days driving round Blyton.

Fair point mate... We were pretty sharp on the ball regarding tyres and getting the track cleared last time but you're right, even the small ones would leave a dent if hit at speed....
Part of the brief will be to warn the 'marshals' of an object on the track... safest thing would be to stop or slow everyone down until it was cleared... maybe a yellow or even black flag dependent on the issue... Raised at the 90 degree pit entrance corner to warn people.... I'll have a chat with Dave as we're always look to improve safety without making it too draconian...

I was referring to the fact that the Blyton track is marked out with tyres, not just car tyres, ones of various size from various vehicles. Unlike cones, these tyres cause a fair bit of damage to bodywork when hit, even slightly. They get pushed into the track when hit so not exactly able to avoid them totally, I remember when out in Pauls car having to spin out a few times because some pretty large tyres were in the way. As we saw a few times, they're not exaclty forgiving.
