ecu resetting
im wanting to reset my ecu as i have a abs fault and am looking at all options .
what issues will i have after i dissconnect battery -
do i need a radio code (i dont appear to have one)
imobilisor code ?
key fobs (do they need to be connected to ecu again )
sorry for my lack of knowledge but i never done it before and i dont want to be left with car in drive and not being able to start it lol

Afraid I don't have a clue. You may get a quicker response if you post in the general / technical section

This is how IO used to do it, but not certain if this was only applicable to classics
Ecu reset
1) Warm engine up to normal operating temp
2) Connect the 2 black connectors and 2 green connectors together under the steering column
3) Turn ignition on
4) Press accelerator all the way down
5) Then lift to half way
6) Wait for Engine Check Lamp to come on
7) Start engine
8) Drive for at least one minute taking it easy
9) Wait for Check Engine Light to flash continuously and evenly
10) Turn off engine
11) Un-plug connectors under the steering column
12) Job done
On early MYs (especially pre MY97) the ECU retards the ignition when knock is detected, however, it is very slow to advance the timing again. An ECU reset will restore the car to factory default settings. This will remove any stored fault codes and restore ignition advance. It is possible to reset the ECU by following these steps:
Turn ignition OFF

Turn ignition OFF
Connect Read Memory Connectors & Test Mode Connectors
(jumper 5) [black connectors] – (jumper 6) [green connectors]
Turn ignition ON (engine off)
Engine Check lamp turns on
Depress accelerator pedal completely
Then return it to the half-throttle position and hold it there for two seconds
Release pedal completely
Start engine
Code is indicated by Pulsing lamp
If a fault is detected - Check ECU Code
If no fault is detected - drive the car sensible for a couple of minutes
i.e. until warm (do not run tall & do not thrash it!)
When the ECU has been reset the Check Engine Light will flash
Code is indicated by Pulsing lamp
If a fault is detected Check ECU Code
Turn ignition OFF & Disconnect Connectors
If there is a fault Check Appropriate Sensor
