Question which diff oil?

llo all, i'm a newbie to scoobys and need a bit of help!
does anyone know which oil to put in the diff of my '99 impreza estate? we've had a rumbley-whiney noise for some time now ... think it's time for an oil change

Rumbley whiney noise not time for oil, time for a new diff me thinks. Puting oil in a whiney diff will not help, if it as been makeing a noise for a long time then it as been ASKING for oil Damage already done.
