I think I am guna try and get the meet at the Foxglove on 27th of this month it will be my first meet so looking forward to meeting everybody.

I'm going to take a drive out tonight and actually find the place coz I don't have the first clue where it is.

I'll be leading a mini-convoy down from The Brickworks on the edge of Driglington just by J27 (Ikea/Showcase) at 7pm if you want to join us. Includes a little blat over Emley, traffic permitting.

 

I have no idea how to get there, would somebody be kind enough to meet me at showcase or something before hand????

 

You can't miss it. It's got a 100 foot high chimbley with "B R I C K W O R K S" written down it....



Off the main junction just follow the signs for A650 to Bradford. As soon as you get onto that road the 2 lanes will narrow because of painted cross hatchings on the road. Stay in the outside lane and drive over them and it opens back up to a second lane to turn right into Driglington. Go up the hill for just 100 yards and turn right into a cul-de-sac. We'll be there.

 

As Dave says you can't miss it, and I'm officially the WYIOC memeber with the worst sense of direction. Thankfully Dave climbed up the chimney with a pot of white paint and put "Brickworks" on there so I could find it.

PS Dave you'll have to let me know when you're in the Lakes as we've got a caravan up in Bassenthwaite that we'll be over at in Aug / Sept.

 

Will do We'll be in a 6 berth log cabin by a private lake and will be posting an invite for WYIOC'ers to come and join us, possibly for a day of off-roading with KANKKU, but certainly to drive some awesome roads

 

Right I'm going to try find this damned chimney, I think I know where it is but can I can't remember how to get there! I think there is a steepish road and the chimney is on the right hand side if your going up the road???

 

Basically when you get to the roundabouts near Ikea / Showcase you want the road that points to A650 Bradford when you head down the A650 there's a road to your right pretty soon after you get on to it (ie 200/300 yards) take this. By this point you'll have seen t'chimney unless you're Stevie Wonder.

I found it, I think, The Old Brickworks plastered down it, I didn't realise it was a pub. God I need to get out mor often I think. Had my vest on today but don't think I will be wearing it next week to the meet! Ha Ha Ha!

 

 

Ha Ha Ha! I can get lost going to White Rose me trust me! So now I have found that I just need to keep an eye out for this cul de sac! How many are going to the meet from there?

 

AFAIK there'll be me (& Helen) and skywalker (Scott, Sarah & Kaine). Simon (scg) sometimes shows there, unless he's too busy at the gym preparing for an international vest wearing competition

 

Are ladyfriends invited to the meet to? Debating whether or not to bring mine or just come on my own, having said that my mate keeps dropping hints about coming with me.

 

Ladies are more than welcome. There'll be a few there no doubt to say Hi too and talk about anything but cars..

 

I will see if she wants to come along with me then. I found the Foxglove the other night very nice pub, had a drink and a bite to eat with the girlfriend. Wouldn't have found it though without sat nav and i still nearly ended up in a stream! I know I have a Sub put I don't think that's it's purpose really! Ha Ha

 

Girlfriends can't come now got last minute holiday she goes Wednesday so either be on my own or with a friend, not sure yet! See you all Thursday! Corradoboy see you by the Old Brickworks and thanx for letting me tag along on your convoy!
