Evening mate..
Best thought I'd answer.. I have absolutely no idea!!
Chris is our Legacy Guru.. stick some muppetry up and he'll be along in a few seconds.. Then I'm sure he'll post something illuminating and informative..

I used to see a leggy turbo around Three Nuns / Bradley when I went that way - it would definitely shift when he wanted it to and very much a Q-car / farmer's special...
If you're on about twin-turbos, are they the B4 RSK version? From what I've seen, very much a wolf in sheep's clothing. One review I seem to remember made out that they accelerated like an impreza but kept going when the impreza tailed off at the top end plus you'd got an estate car for load-lugging and "comfort."
On more mundane levels, when I had a quick go in Chris' courtesy car one time, it feels much more family car like but still has some performance although not "blistering" as AFAIR it was a 2 litre NA.

Cheers Andy and Mick,
I'm looking at a totally mint 1995 Legacy Twin Turbo GT, Tiptronic. It's 260BHP BUT what i'm most concerned about is whether it has the silly gear ratios of my WRX. If it actually goes and has a decent top speed (150 ish) i might be interested, but if it's undergeared cos of the 112MPH Jap limit(Even with the limiter removed)i'm not interested.

Paul The Import WRX sould be good for 150 granted nearly on the rev limit, should mine of ever been on a track I am pretty sure it would go rapidly quick to 144 but the down side would be, kind of a friends reunited when the pistons join each other in the sump some where
I know the Import RA model do have a very short box and are only good for 120 at the limit in 5th. But not a great deal of help on the legacy happy shopping mate.

Hi guys.
Well, I have to be honest and say that I'm not really that clued up on the earlier Leggies, at least prior to MY'99.
The more recent B4 RSKs/Blitzens and GTBs can certainly shift, and the handling is 'big Impreza' all the way.
In terms of the gearing, my understanding was that both the manuals and autos are reasonably high geared but, with regard to the '95 Tiptronic, I feel the only way to check for sure Paul is to have a go in it.
For what it's worth, I followed a 97-ish twin turbo from Glasgow a couple of months ago in my '02 WRX wagon, and there was little in it at 'higher' speeds. The private road that we were actually on allowed some decent runs up to 130 or so, and the Leggy certainly seemed pretty lively from the ton upwards. Interestingly, I stopped to get some fuel on the border, and he vanished into the distance....
If my MY '05 Leggy is anything to go by, you'll enjoy the Impreza-supersize-me handling. Definitely the same DNA, just been on the chips a bit...
Cheers, Chris.
