I do like them, they look the bollocks, but Scooby wins hands down for me. You on about having a second car or losing the Scooby for one?

might let mine go cheap, it needs a little tidying tbh but its a 2006 premier model.

They are decent to drive, on par with a wrx once rolling - Quite nippy when kpro'd..
Can get around 250 bhp 180 ft lbs of torque with a few mods which will see off a stock STi nicely.

Not as solid to drive as a scooby, feel a bit more involving though.
Doesn't give you the same rush as when u hit turbo but the vtec is nice.

Type r is a wicked car mate lovely to drive but no compare to a scooby and the mpg is not bad when driven well.

my son has a 54 plate with an induction kit... not as quick as my present scoob but would have given my previous wrx scoob which had ppp a good run for its money once he was rolling well finished interior solid but you have to rev the engine to get vtec as he says "its all about vtec" lol they are a good car but suffer from the normal high power through the front wheels problems can get slippy in wet he is thinking of selling it now and getting a bm....has had his fun for the last 18 months...

My work colleague had one, an '04. Shifted well, though they aint very comfortable. Expect to feel every bump in the road.
The engine is excellent, though petrol isnt much better than a scoob. You're also going to be pushing just 200bhp, and although you will have fun in the car, it wont give you the same smiles-per-miles factor that you get with a scoob.

Hope that helps

I have owned both pre facelift and facelift, awesome cars for handling and nippyness.

My mate had a Jackson Supercharged one and once rolling it was quick.

It will never be a Subaru Impreza though.....

Thought about an s2000 instead? little bit more expensive but atleast they drive the wheels at the right end of the car look good and with 240bhp its a pokey motor.

Sold my 52 3 weeks ago after getting my scooby. Would love to have kept it but at the moment can't really afford 2 cars. I loved it and when I can afford 2 cars in a couple of years I would not hesitate to buy another one.

I had one running similar spec very fun and fast, know a ki with one down alum rock way and his is crazy quick, problem is is,you know so youl flip it on the roof if you push it on corners.. Had a go in a few Type R,could of owned a few by now too but, power aint real there even when Turbod up and every thing there not as easy to drive as a scoob... I think the Type Rs look amazing, all of them, the gears are nice, bottom ends do go on them though so keep a eye on oil and the redline ;-) you know,go try these cars,I have, but your going backwards with a type R,you should be considering a skyline, evo or some thing, the type r is like going back to a corsa red top turbo,I might of for a min cavalier turbo though ;-) there just getting so rare now.. Man go look what you can get for your money,id really consider a evo 6,pretty much get a choice of imports at 3k,I was going to do this or get a skyline man go try as many as you can before you consier doing any thing.. You sound like me,you want it,your getting it but you should really miss the type R not in the imprezas league.. Its like comparing the evo 6 with the classic impreza, the evo is just better but personal prefference?? Up to you,If it was a 2n car grab it but replacing the scoob??my son woul go crazy,he 11 ;-)

I pissed over a Evo 6 the other day in my classic... The chap spent all his money on stickers and not upgrades!
