Just been speaking to Rob Ostle from Cumbrian Scoobs,

WMI are attending a meet up in Cumbria to run round the Lakes and Fells before the tourist season starts.

We will be meeting on the 27th February.

The Run will consist off the following

Meet @ 9am @

Gilpin Bridge Inn,

just off the A590 M6 Jnc 36

Sorted into appropriate Groups.

Depart at 9.45am with 5 minute gaps between each group.

Few Brief stop offs for photo opportunities & to let the cars cool down a touch.

Return to Gilpin Bridge for a Meal at around 2-2.30pm Menu yet to be arranged.

Then Depart for Home afterwards.

I'd have taken that as a yes then, the money he saves on a present could go on the fuel for the run up.

 

Last year there was the best part of 50 cars from all over the country, lets see if we can make WMI the biggest group.

 

I'll pop up. I recommend when you go up, to go the M54 way, A5 towards oswestry then the Mways as so to bypass Junction 17 at sandbach as the traffic is abismal all the way to the thelwall viaduct. Could be there for hours. Wont add much to the journey, in fact it will cut a bit of time off (compared to standing traffic).

New Years here time to get this up and running again, I've spoken to a few members the other day, we think its going to be better to drive up on the day (early) if we book for over night theres a security issue for our cars and if the weather turn we'll have paid for a hotel room for nothing, clearly if you feel you want to book into a Hotel, Rob Ostle can help with some recommendations.

 

surely we would be leaving way to early to catch any traffic at J17 plus it would be a weekend.

The CB's are a laugh on the monthly meets but it's on long journey's like these that they really come into their own

Can't believe this will be the first event of any sort WMI will attend without H

 

So is this a 2 day event going up on the Saturday coming bk Sunday? Or have I got my wires crossed. But none the less is sounds awesome

 

Hi, we originaly were going up Saturday, but decided due to security on the car, we would go up Sunday morning as per the top post.
