I am totally confused, and dont know any one bright enought to ask,

If the three pain parties are on (depending on poll) roughly 28% (Labour) 31% (Lib Dems) and 34% (Cons) of the public vote, then why or how does this relate to 280 ish seats for conv. 250 ish for Lab and only 80ish for lib dems..... Totally Confused, help please
