Hertfordshire Scooby Owners and Scoobynet members!
Having got rid of a money pit of an R33 skyline earlier this year, for a blue classic turbo 2000 and live in herts...
I just wanted to say how polite all other scooby owners are in this area!
I always get a wave or a nod, maybe a friendly flash! Which was not the case after being a member of the www.skylineownersclub.com and in 18 months of ownership was treated like a lepper! Even when getting on the forums and trying to attend meets, buying spares from other owners/traders etc. It all seemed very 'clicky'
I've always owned cars that come with a certain "reputation" e.g. GTI's, Type R's, a Skyline and now a very clean and subtle classic facelift example and couldn't be happier with it! And the friendly nature and assistance from other owners just proves that the stereotypical moniker for these cars is unjustified and should be left to white van men (my vans black) and saxo drivers who sit in mcd's car parks with there 15" wolfrace halfords bought wheels, with a months salary from stacking shelves in the local supermarket...
I feel that the modern day car enthusiast is an intelligent and passionate character, it's not all about insane power figures, dyno readings and wild bodykits! But a genuine appreciation for motoring and for the car in question!
When i've got some more free time with a young pup still needing alot of attention, I will again continue to cherish, maintain and improve (tastfully) my pride and joy and will also take time and pleasure in reading about others who are in a similar position!
Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to give us a wave!
Luke

If i'd got the dog before the car i'd have gone down the wagon route! Plus in the snow I could get to work instead of getting stuck in the van!
Is talk of carrying a dog and driving in treacherous conditions allowed on here?

If the dog yacked on the seat i'd have a good reason to buy a new interior! lol
Ah Pistonheads... Many hours spent with my imaginary budget followed by "if i had the money what would I go for..." Even more fun with the beta version of the classified section!

Maybe I should have put "working part time from college/school stacking shelves" but didnt think i'd have to spell it out, plus a manager position is a bit different to a shelf stacker... No need to be so defensive!

The point I was making was steered towards those members of society that give car enthusiasts a bad name. It was a very loose generalisation that i'm sure everyone has come across at some point in their life.
It was not malicious or aimed directly at anyone.
