Red face

I was out tonight and was informed by a friend of TWO black STi's being driven by police Both in London; one spotted on Putney Bridge.

One had a fixed blue light - the other a blue light on the end of a cord (on the roof!).

Can this be true

If so, be afraid. VERY afraid

If they were cops, I'd laugh if they got car jacked. The irony...

Lightbulb

Light on the end of a cord could be the guy's own car.

I think there is a fire chief up north somewhere who has a scoob and uses it with a blue light on occasions.

One of the drivers was in uniform and the guy who saw them was very clear that there was an STi badge on the back of both...

Has no-one seen them? Both spotted yesterday - 3rd May in London...

I have seen a black Prodrive STI with a triangular fixed blue light on top coming out of Raynes Park. The guy driving was in uniform but I couldn't see if it was a police or fire uniform.

No, it's definitely not an STi. The one you saw is unique.

The doctor who supports the Technical Rescue unit in Hampshire has a WRX (uk), but it's fully liveried up with stripes etc.

The Fire Service have what are called Supervisory Officers. These are generally called to more important incidents (RTAs, larger fires etc.) to take charge. Most use their own cars with a magnetic blue light and sirens or two tones. Something of an incentive to go for promotion...

(and just in case anyone is worried all ours do blue light training and most have driven fire engines for years so they're safe!)
