Been through to the coast today on the backroads (came back Hunmanby/Sledmere/Stamford Bridge). Saw at least 5 scoobies, but only a green wrx waved!! (thanks, it was appreciated!)
Anyone on here in North Yorks? What's going on?

I drive a green MY98 and always wave - maybe it's just other colours? I find that most peeps don't wave, so don't take it personally.

we drive a light green scooby with prodrive and private plate and we always wave when we see a scooby. we live in the york area and it is not very often we get other scooby drivers wave back

 

Looking at the rest of this BBS, it seems it's not just North Yorkshire!!

I'm from the Richmond area and I used to 'flash' like a looney but I don't bother now due to blank looks - I've opted for looking for the tell-tale marks - SIDC sticker, Scooby net stickers etc. You missed a good meet today starting in Settle over the Dales (Hawes, Reeth, Kettlewell etc). Give me an idea where you drive and I'll look out for you

My car is MY02 WRX in WR Blue - The car is still as standard, (have considered Morettes/UK300 Lights, but not done yet). Usually around Skipton/Harrogate/York/North Leeds area. If I'm up to Richmond, will watch out for you!

keep an eye on the Northern thread for possible meets etc,if you haven't attended one, you won't be dissappointed. You may get around 40 attending and no pressure on how fast you drive etc. Good drive followed by pub lunch - what better.

I think I might have seen you before but I wasn't in the Scoob. Well, it was a woman in the car you describe. Last week sometime, going past Ashville College ? Probably about 4 pm I think.

Last time I waved at someone it turned out it was one of the DBM umarked police cars in Skipton. I felt like a right pratt so I tend to not do it now.

Besides, I'm usually miles away when driving in traffic as it just makes me switch off. So if you see me chances are I've seen you too late.

I wave, just don't see many scoobies, live just off A1 after Knaresborough. Saw a friendly S plate yesterday going a tad fast up the A1 (scoobynet sticker in window) stopping following at 100mph plus. If I see you will wave. MY97 green wagon with 7 spoke gold wheels

Sorry, I work during the week so weekend meets are out, as the car becomes the sensible family saloon (OK, not very sensible, and it does benefit from long, fast trips to the coast/Toys 'R' us etc. via B roads on occasions!) Weekends spent with husband and son searching for dragons (!) to slay or make friends with - that's why I was at Clifford's Tower on Sunday

I'll still look out for you on the roads - dragon searching may take me up to your area

I always give a raised hand to other Scoobs near me but have only had 2 responses in the few months I've had it I'm still persevering though!

I live near Wetherby but am often in North Leeds, Harrogate, York etc. Oh yeah, I'm in a MY94 red 5dr turbo if anyone wants to wave...

Having said that, this morning I saw a stunning new UK300 piloted by two grey haired women in their 70's/80's and I didn't wave. The driver looked so scared I just didn't want to put her off!!! I can see it now, she takes in her 10 year old Justy for its annual service, and gets that as a courtesy car, where I on the other hand...

Pleased you've seen some old folks in Scoobies too - There was one old dear in a WRX bugeye in Sainsburys in Harrogate last weekend...!Mind you, when you're old, what do you want to be driving, a Justy or a Scooby?

I drive past wetherby everyday, live at Boroughbridge and work in Castleford, I don't seem to see too many scoobies, apart from a dark blue 4 door s plate on monday night heading north at quite a speed.

 

There always seems to be a number on the York ringroad near the shell garage/A59 roundabout. No idea why Tis where I tend to always fill up, don't know of any other shell garages in york within easy access.

Wetherby tends to be a funnel for people passing through, which is why I see a number about. There is a black lamborghini (sp?) prowling around at the moment. I've only seen it once, but I've heard reports of a 'black,growling, noisy thing' in clifford/boston spa on a few occasions so unless Mike Tyson has been visiting it could only be that

Did I see you this afternoon? Somewhere around Bardsey/Wetherby area 3.00 ish? Didn't get the reg, but red 5 door classic shape - driver did wave...?

Also saw sonic blue classic shape R reg A61 just outside Killinghall this morning, around 11.00.
Only saw 2 scoobies today and both waved - N Yorks must be getting better!

One on Knaresborough high street, 3.10 ish..., the other at the lights at the top of Station Parade, Harrogate - private reg PR *** at around 5.20?
I was on foot on Knaresborough high street, in the Scooby in Harrogate. Didn't wave at either - sorry...

 

Well i live near Sherburn and i havent seen any of you and i always wave, flash(lights) etc. Although i think i have met terzo333 if he was at the last well lane shoot.
