I've filled up at the Windmill Garage in Mellor a few times, as it seems to be about the only Optimax in the area

Chaz,

i have got a DBM MY01 (with Morettes and PPP), and have recently been dog-legging it via Mellor Brook for "nice" petrol on the way to my parents in Clitheroe (thus sadly missing the nice sweeping road past BAe where mi Mum used to work). Only every few months though!

It wasn't you that hit the bridge over the '59 the other week

Think a wagon blew over. Hope that the Melow run is as good as the last one that I went on. I won't be able to make it coz I'll be up a mountain somewhere.

The old police house LOL, just after the row of little posts as you come of the roundabout from the motorway, pretty much the start of the street lights for the dual carrige bit.

Cool

Chaz,

when i was a nipper, there was a thing called a "Police Accident Control Unit", which was basically a Transit Van full of cones etc., with a big flood-light that could be raised vertically. I had a Dinky model of one, and was over the moon when i saw one "in the flesh" for the first time - at the M6J31 turnoff by the Police house.

I guess that is where you live!!

Passing by on Friday (hopefully) in nostalgia-mode
