Terzo
1997 saw Subaru win the WRC manufacturers title for a third time in succession. Even before the official announcement to the UK Subaru dealers, rumours were circulating over the inevitable release of a third special edition, with the possible specification suggested being very close to the final car. Available from April 1998 onwards, at an on the road price of £22,995, a total of 333 "Terzo" special editions have been produced (numbered 1 to 334, omitting 13). Terzo is Italian for third. This is to celebrate the third WRC championship victory in a row, and hence the third special edition. Specification for the Terzo is as follows:

Special mica blue paintwork (similar but not identical to the current WRC cars)
Current style 16 inch alloys, but painted gold
Air conditioning
Alacantra + suede effect interior trim (Same front seats as fitted to recent STi models, but without embroidered STi logo, and red shoulder flashes)
Interior number Terzo plaque
Cobra 6422 Thatcham Category 1 alarm with remote central locking
Side and rear Terzo decals
Special Terzo floor mats
Non folding rear seat

I always like to know the spec of the car that could not keep up. Teesside must contain the slowest Scoobs in the country.

After many encounters locally i tend not waste the optimax now the results are always boringly the same. Basically while driving home at 60mph in 70mph zone i was gaining on said Terzo and was just going to go past no fuss. But he had clocked me and was speeding up the nearer i became to him. As i went across the r-about he had stopped me going past by matching my speed and was looking across with a bit of a cheeky grin i knew what was coming. He was going to try and leaving me hanging in the outside lane. The rest is history. I blew the doors off it. HAHA

Like i said dont be suprised. " If you play with feathers you'll get your **** tickled". He will know next time to let my go about my buisness un-harrassed.

Lovely condition terzo but the burberry cap left a lot to be desired.

Anyone seen the P1 for sale at Jennings i had a look at it last week i considered it until i looked at the for sale price £16995 70,000 miles on it 2001 yplate. If P1 engines were not so prone to failure and the mileage had been sub 50k i would have considered it but not at nearly 17k.

Sorry, but our very brief experience of Jennings Subaru in Middlesbrough, would lead me to conclude they know little about the marque. Wouldn't touch them (or any of their stock), with a barge pole.

Their Ford counterparts are little better. We did deal with a nice Salesman though.

Cheers

I will leave it well alone then. I still like the looks of the P1 and the Rb5.

Ideally you want a P1 that has had a rebuild, and a tek 3 remap for uk fuel.

Gary

I think Jed's gone back to Jennings again (used to deal with him at Petch). At least he knows his stuff. The others gave me loads of guff about no PPP until the car'd done 5K miles (illegal to fit it! ), didn't know the spec of models, and seemed to pull prices out of the air.

I've also heard they remove engines to change spark plugs(!) and I know they ring SG Petch to ask advice on technical issues - I've been there when its happened. Strangely, even I knew the answer! Rather makes you think they don't know what they're doing...

Head to Petch if you want a main dealer. Ask for Les and tell him I sent you.

Cheers

Cheers Mike. I need to own a 4wd performance car at some point and its good to have 1st hand genuine advise. I just know whatever i get i will push it upto the 400-500bhp mark. Like i said i would love a P1 but they have issues. I read lots of stuff off here and try and educate myself as best as possible. Thanks for the advice.

I thought they used a stnd import sti engine but put briquettes in the fuel tank to make it safe to use with uk fuel. The briquettes being a slow realease fuel addative.
