I was in stealth mode!! I was driving a citroen AX when you came flying past! I was going to get out when we came to the temporary traffic lights but thought it might look a little odd! It's typical, when I'm not in the STI, I see loads of Scoobies but it's safer to park a heap of junk at work.
Is your car standard? It seemed to take the bends really well and looked very stable where as mine with Prodrive springs is all over the place.

Hey Jaycee,

Thought it might have been you. I could tell you were a scooby driver the way you were launching the AX into the twisty bits.
Yes the scooby is std. apart from prodrive pack fitted (the handling of the car is of course down to the quality of the driver lol)
Jaycee ,whilst we are talking you might be able to help, i need some new tyres for the stig. I have been looking through some of the forums on this site and alot of drivers are recommending goodyear eagle f1's. This is the first set of new boots needed after 15k tootling about on th B6161 ( yeah right ) ,that road chews tyres but its fun.
What do you use on yours?
This site is all new to me even though i've had the scooby for 2 years so bear with me.
Another question, do we have a local meeting/club for subaru drivers around the harrogate area?

cheers, hope you can help with the tyre choice i need them PDQ. ( don't tell dibble )

Wheatie.

LOL! I watched you disappear into the far distance and thought "bugger". It was quite impressive watching the rate of acceleration. Goodyear F1 GSD-3 are a good choice. I ran them on my last scoob and they gave excellent grip in all conditions. My STI has the factory fitted Bridgestones but when I change to 18's I'll be fitting F1's. If you're on 17's you should pay about £98 per corner inc. fitting etc.
I don't think there are any organised meets round here as such (but I could always cobble a group together! ) Nearest organised is either Tyne Tees Scoobies or WYIOC.

Give Colman tyres in Otley a ring, Les is a top bloke, number is 01943 466626. Tell him Jason from the phone shop sent you!

I'm always up for a bit of "spirited" driving round the lovely country roads we've got round here.

I see loads of scoobs round here but most of them are chavs or old folk!!

Did you used to own a silver classic by any chance?

Cool. I'm in mine today if you fancy a blast back to Harrogate tonight!
Pop in and say hello when you get your tyres fitted.

Just down the road from Colman's. Walk to the first set of traffic lights and we're on the left takes about 2 minutes.

I've been doing Harrogate->Boroughbridge->Ripon back roads quite recently whilst running it in.
Surely there are enough owners round the local area to organise a mini-meet?!
