As a new Scooby owner (5 Weeks) it is with some disappointment I find that no other Scooby driver has yet returned my friendly wave / Flash of the lights when out in the car...Never had this problem with my previous Lotus - Spotting another would result in much light flashing / waving...Doesn't seem to be the case with the Scoob tho'...Is this just the case in Scotland, or is it any different down south?

most scooby drivers around here wave back, but I would have to say no wave is preferable to the unprovoked W**ker sign a laydee in a red MX6 waved at me on the way home tonight (or was it an offer??)

its just dawned on me. The MX6 was the sister car to the Ford pen.s; sorry! Ford Probe; so perhaps she was a vet practising her teckneek on her way to an artfishyial insemination session? (or maybe she just thinks i;m a W***ker).

Seems in Scotland (In my area at least) a high percentage of Scooby drivers are elderly farmers...Who, despite owning Impreza Turbos, do their level best to maintain an average speed of 40mph everywhere...(!)

When we first got our Turbo it was only younger people who had them but in the last year things have changed older folk seem to have caught up on the attraction of an affordable performance car. As you say they all sit in the 40 to 50 mph bracket.
The more enjoyable the road the slower they go!
The hill foots road is a good example lots of folk driving slowly spoiling the enjoyment of our cars.

I either wave or flash at other scoobies, usually regardless of wether they are turbo's or not, think I've even started waving at Legacies as well

I do get flashes/waves back.

My only problem is that I'm tending to wave when I'm in the Volvo, therefore scooby owners don't usually respond

 

I flash all scoob's i see, and have only met a few who don't wave back....

 

I wave when I notice them on time. It's not always easy to notice them on time when going twice the speed allowed
9/10 they wave back but then 9/10 the other scooby I'm crossing is Mahony's...
I haven' tried waving at Justy's as I don't think grandma will notice it anyway.

 

Ive driven past some owners WITH SIDC STICKERS no joke just blanked me and other scoobys as well you know who you are MOODY......or even worse still just give me a funny LOOK ....

Waved at a STI the other day he didn't even see me. I was on foot at the time though!!

 

A guy in a Legacy waved at me the other day as I passed him -I felt guilty at not waving back

 

I wave and flash my lights all day long up (1200 hrs) and down (1600 hrs) the A34, although i am in a big blue lorry with Scooby Doo in the window. Jon.

 

I'd just about given up on the A33 between Basingstoke and Reading (boring *******s) when to my surprise a silver MY01 flashed me at 7:05 this morning, I hope he saw me wave, other wise he'll think I'm one of the boring *******s !!!!
