Hello mate,

I do believe this was me it sounded like an SS B/box as i was sat on the clutch LOL It's a Blitz Nur Spec-R

Don't get many waves from Cambs scoobs... most of them are clueless, must say it makes a nice change not to look mental when you wave

Woohoo my first sighting on SN. Did think it sounded a bit too loud for a SS. Should get my Blitz delivered and fitted any day now so your bound to hear me a bit easier.

Do you go to any of the SN meets at the Plough?

Yeah I know what you mean about Cambs scoob drivers. When I first got mine I thought it was a load of crap about people waving as people looked at me like I was a ****. Last month or so and loads have waved at me. Seems to be more of the classic owners - cant remember getting a wave from a bugeye owner. And all the women just blank you too.

Ah yes, I've seen that loud silver one knocking about - and making good progress I'm pleased to say!! Know what you mean about waving though - never sure whether to go for it or not (always much less tempted with the new ones though!!). There is one guy driving a wagon (R plate I think) who waves very enthusiastically everytime I see him - always cheers me up.

I very much doubt you lot will have seen me - I drive a very quiet silver sti5 with a an HKS Hiper and FMIC!!!

Cool

Well - I've not been spotted in Cambridge yet

Gotta say that I live a few miles away in the boonies but often in visiting

I know the owner of a Black UK STi Prodrive & he sometimes posts on here but hardly ever see anyone else...

Its not S reg(I think) with the number plate on the bonnet is it. If it is I sat at the end of butt lane one day, as you headed to towards the tip, and I could hear your for miles. Sounds the dogs

Rules For Cambridge :

1. Never wave at an un-modded scoob
2. Never wave at old drivers
3. Never wave at Bug eyes
4. Never ever wave at women because half of them are clueless as to what driving a scoob means you'll probably be put up on some harasment charge

Anthony J, what are you driving fella ? ? ?

CTR - yup that would be me!! (With the baffle in as well - even noisier with it out!!)

Nice road Butt Lane - shame about the traffic lights at the end!!

Stealth - good set of rules. Guess that's how I work subconciously anyway (maybe it is different for each region?)! (car is silver sti5 with bits on btw!)...

Yeah and the donkeys who pull out of the tip without looking, and the ones who do 35.

I used to get waved at by a few scoobs round Cambridge. I gave up initiating it though, as most of the time I got a stupid look.

People do say I look old for my age, but probably not more than double surely?! In my experience, the older drivers have been more friendly than the younger...

A couple of my friends have Peugeot 306s so I'm always waving randomly at cars that look like theirs. I feel slightly disadvantaged in this - there aren't many cars around that look like mine (especially from the front) so they're always saying "why did you ignore me?", but it is quite hard sometimes to see who is actually driving until it is too late. I suggested they went for a custom paint-job in order to make their cars more readily identifiable...

Until recently, I used to own a BMW as well as a scoob (indicators on the other side) so I was frequently spotted wiping my windscreen when other people flashed their lights at me!! There should be a name for this condition - "flashywiperitis"?! Hmm, maybe not.

Ah looks like this thread has brought out a few more Cambs scoob owners which is always nice. There are a few classic on the Milton Science Park where I work. I also met a guy on here who also worked on the Science Park and had a Silver Evo 6 and he took me and a mate for a quick spin which turned into a 90 min thrash around a load of back roads at full chat - quality. Pity he moved to the states.

I'm currently tapping my fingers waiting for delivery of my new blitz exhuast. Anyone reccommend a decent place to get it fitted? Was gonna get a mate to do it but will have to wait til Sat/Sun if I go that route.

Cheers,
Simon.

The guy we saw there owns a scoob and seems to know his stuff.

Yeah I had to buy axel stands when I did mine..... Halfords do them for about 20quid I would offer to lend you mine but I'm not gonna be able to get them before the weekend..

a jack would colpse when you were taking the zorst off because there's a fair bit of pushin and pulling (aye aye ) but it really is easy, if needs be I'll give you a hand mate!

Well I have a couple of semi-competent mates when it comes to cars so will go get some axle stands and a trolley jack.

I use BarrTech on Cowley Road behind the Park & Ride. Good bunch of guys and fair prices in my experience. They're used to working with high performance cars (i.e. Porsches & Ferraris) and are really friendly. Mail me if you want any more details etc...

Cheers Anthony. Got my zorst fitted at Barr-Tech. Real nice professional looking place. Always good to see some nice performance cars in the car park when you turn up.

Was talking to them for ages about all the Porsche and Ferrari restorations they do. They were working on two porsches while I was in. Will be getting a lot more work now that the Lancaster Bodyshop is closing at the end of the month.

Got a quote for my boot repair. Looks like a complete new boot lid. Just gotta get the insurance company to agree to it now.

Si.

Yes I did mate. They said they were working on it after the turbo failed and sucked up all the engine oil. Exhaust was well black.
