@rsehole in STi7 D* DSC - Sevenoaks
#1
There we were travelling into Sevenoaks at about midday on Saturday when I spot the familiar sight of a scoob in my rear view about 4 cars back. Sonic blue colour catches my attention even more and I nudge my missus and say I think there's an STi7 behind us.
We go through a couple of roundabaouts that places this car right behind us and I start drooling everytime I look behind. The wife starts chatting about needing to win the lottery but I can tell she is impresed by the looks of the car - and I start comtemplating how much trade in I would get for my MY00 wagon!
Then it happens ... having been travelling along single carriageway in a 40mph zone, the road widens to a short bit of dual carriageway ... this is the point where the d1ckhead decides he want to impress me with the speed of his car and hoors past and immediately pulls straight back in front before slapping on his brakes in order to stops at the queue of traffic at the lights ahead. Meanwhile, I need to turn right so indicate right pull into the outside lane and therefore go straight past him again.
Well done chap, you really impressed me with your driving prowess. You managed to make up one place on the road that if you'd waited 10 secs you would have got anyway. I was pretty dischuffed that a fellow scooby driver could be such a w@nker (if I had been driving an Austin Allegro, wearing a hat and been travelling 10mph below the limit, I might have justifiably accepted such treatment) but worse was to come. The wife then says that if one of these cars makes you drive like such a t0sser there ain't a cat's chance I was going to get one - thanks a lot mate!

Brave of you HK.
I think this reaction is a little over the top though - so you overtook someone - big deal. I have clocked people mouthing off at me when I go past them in ideal overtaking situations, but if it's safe i can't see what the problem is. If i get nicked for speeding that's my look out.
Charlie.

I tried not to rise to the bait but ...
I've no problem with overtaking - where it is safe and proper to do so (I've had my fair share of flashed lights, handsignals etc etc!! ) - but to overtake one car in a line of traffic slowing down to approach a queue of stationary traffic at a set of lights in 40mph zone with a 30 mph zone in all directions after the lights ...
... if you think that's worthwhile, I'll put on me Trilby hat on and put the travel rug in the backseat!
...aaahhhh! Forget the above, it's all a storm in teacup, nothing was hurt except my dreams of an STi7 !!!

I know the junction Mike is referring to, overtaking there is a total waste of time, especially in traffic, as you'll still be in the same traffic for several miles, and all you'll have done is pissed off the person behind you!

tony so you agree with me now heh about sti7s
all that i cant drive etc... stuff was all in a bit of excitement
oh by the way my my00 is now getting very near to the 300bhp mark so should be getting near your car
but back to the post subject my wife was driving down the a13 at 80ish when this n*bhead in a silver sti7 roars up behind her 2` behind giving it the come on then now my wife isn`t exactly a boy racer and as there is nowhere to pull over to let him past starts getting flustered it all ends ok but the thing is we have a young family with a child seat clearly on show so these n*obheads should get a grip
