HONDA VFR Eater - M40
#1
A colleague (who happens to run a Honda VFR)has mentioned an incident on the M40 Last week leading up to the Beaconsfield area which has caused him to ask what the hell was that guy running, and just how quick are those Subarus's.
Apparently Silver'ish scooby, was playing with said motorcycle to the tune of lots of miles an hour plus, until colleagues M/cyclr ran out of steam and said scooby, zoomed off!
If it's you please tell us what mods you are running, colleague is very intrigued, may even be a potential convert!

Had a little session with P reg ZX6r on m4 the other day and P1 power showed the bike a thing or two to my surprise as i ride bikes to.
The guy on the bike was in front at first looked back saw the P1 and every opening in lane three i could see him twist hard and put his head down to the tank......lol......failing to pull away!!
He then let us thru as we passed a 911 which tagged on behind the bike.
This time i could see the bike rider trying hard but slowly losing touch with us on acceleration.
Mods performance wise to my pride joy:- full Gpa scoobysport and thats it?
If you were that ZX6 rider all the best and glad you saw my hand signal to slow down for the M4 speed camera just prior to j35(mobile van type)
Before anyone asks some slight breaking of the law speed limit wise was done however all three (drivers/rider) very cautious and considerate in the way it was done.
Speed does not kill on its own bad driving however does!!!

Dont forget a VFR800 only has about 90-100bhp, quite heavy 220kg and a top whack of just over 148 I think, V4 motor is well torquey tho....I would expect a scooby to give it a run for the money

Well, no actually. I have a Suzuki Bandit 600 (yes I know its cr4p), and my scoob blows it away - I've checked this on a particular quiet stretch of road, on the bike I can get up to 80 before the road runs out, and in the scoob 100.

Having raced bikes at national level with some success i would say that a bang up to date 600cc and above superbike Ie. R6,GSXR6 etc and above will give the scooby a hard time for sure and should pull away on instant in gear acceleration. Bigger like R1 etc well nuff said!
However my feelings are that a WRX and above will give an average driver the weapon to outdo an average RIDER. This is even more the case sholud you throw in an A road etc. I would really not wish see the bonnet of my P1 in the mirrors of me bike if i were on a back road!!
A few years back my eyes were opened somewhat by a supra twin turbo(old style) that showed my Then not that old CBR600 that it had to work very hard to get away on the motorway and that top speed was a problem for the bike. Then the CBR's were good for 150 flat out!!!
What you need to remember is you doing 150 in your WRX etc is a whole lot more relaxed than MR biker trying it on his bike in traffic on the motorway!
The biker may never have been there before and believe me there are loads out there who never use their bikes to their full advantage.
But while i love my P1 to absolute bits it does not i'm sorry offer the adrenalin rush of a good bike!!!!!
However its a god damm lot safer.....lol
Sorry guys but unless you've tried a modern 1000cc superbike you will never know!!!!!
