as above nut must be with key, barrel, ariel and the little black box (decoder) with this ecu

Hi mate an E3 ecu is not chipped to the key they are a direct plug and go. I have got one that has had the ecutek license paid so it can be mapped £120 delivered. I've also got a Y7 which is also a direct fit for an E3 £60 delivered

are you sure as the car is a 1999 v5 with a chiped key supplied and it is defo a e3 ??? confused now as the key light is constantly on??

maybe its a problem with the key and immobiliser box. did you buy the car like it or has it just happened?

someone broken into it and smashed the barrel off but now it will not start just turn over with a spark and fuel pressure. The key light stays on when cranking
so the key codei think is the problem so planning to start with the key, barrel, de code box and ecu if I can find one at a good price, but if it is held in the decoder then I will search just for the key and box

you might be better replacing the barrel and then getting a subaru specialist to code the new key to the car. it costs about £40

Isn't there a collar that goes around the top of the barrel with some wires on which can be detached ?
