Although initial price seems dearer, by the time you've added all the 'reg-transfers fees & charges' on top it'll be cheaper (and you'll get the certificate quicker by going direct!)

There was a guy used to visit the unit over the road from us with a little old Ford Ka and his reg was SCU 3Y. He said he would never sell it. Every single time we asked!!!!

To be honest mate if I were you would sell it with refrence to its similarty to a certain word rather than the 555 ref as 555 plates dont seem to fetch much these days no doubt lost to the younger generation off scooby owners !!
