That car does not have one fitted ,at least not a seperate one.
The temperature sensor on a WRX is part of the MAF housing.
Some STI versions do use a seperate sensor in the plastic airvent that leads to the front wing/stock airfilterbox, but as the ECU on your WRX does not have that function enabled, I don't think that is what you are looking for.

That depends on what the garage said.
Didnt they actually say something like coolant temp sensor.
If they refer to the MAF as a air temp sensor I would get the work done somewhere else to be honest.
