Don't bother, just go for an open source map, should get better power and improved fuel economy over the ppp map. By the time you have bought an ecu and had the keys programmed to it, probably not far short of the cost

Hmm. Did think about that, but a guy told me he would programme the keys for nothing for me so I thought there could be a couple of £100 quid saved over a OS remap and I would have the original ECU too. I have prodrive sports cat and decat centre and prodrive back box fitted. Not looking for major gains, just a little sharper response.

wallace performance in aberdeen is closest to you! russ is very good with evos and getting better scoobs! also andy forrest at edinburgh is probably the best in scotland/possibly uk for sub mapping!

if your car drinking that much fuel going slow might have a fcuked lamda sensor?

i have a 2004 ecu with ecu-tek software. unfortuntly a wrong senor had been fitted and cant be tuned till fixed. now due to me wanting simtek at the time as i was seeking 450bhp, this was a good enough excuss. i have been meaning to send it away to get repaired but havent got round to it. all works when pluged in ect its to do with not reading a senor...... im happy to sell it for £50 if you want to take a punt. i do have receipt of the software.

i tried an open source map on my '03 WRX, but there's some sort of weird firmware on the ecu stopping me from accessing it, i also thought about a ppp ecu or going down the route of a proper remap, is there anyway round it to use an open source map?

The only newage ecu's where there is a bit more work to be done re firmware are 01/02 wrx ppp where there is a Gems piggyback ecu in there. Easy to resolve though.

Yours may have a quirk but I have yet to encounter one that cannot be mapped.

Where about in the country are you, and how much would you charge to map mine? I have an '03 (blobeye) WRX with full decat and cold air induction and just want to gain a bit of power as its pretty much pokeless at the moment.

if hes got decat and it hasnt been mapped then no wonder its running like ****e

as for wallace yeah there good but well expensive there remaps are 650 quid (ecutek)

ive had my car mapped by dunc and although a trek was well worth it and im going again plus theres no ecutek, but an os map with launch control etc.

i cant fault dunc hes always there if you need any tech info and advice

sorry - I don't.

You could sell it on and get a Simtek for virtually nil extra cost though ...
