Can anyone help me, my sister is looking for a peugeot 205 GTI 1.9, it must be black or miami blue (Don`t ask!!) and in good nic, Is she asking for too much?

Do you think they are worth having and not too "old"?

Lets not compare these pugs with your scooby`s guys, because Scoobys are better anyway, but lets not go there for now...

Have the 205s had their day??????

Hi Bagpus

205 GTi 1.9. Excellent car gets a bit expensive to run over 80k miles. Things start going wrong mechanically. Look for a pre cat version (k reg)as you loose a few BHP and costs £450 to replace the cat. I had a J reg from 40K and sold it at 98K for a 306GTi. I prefered the old 205, it was quicker off the mark and had something about it that the 306 didnt.

The blue was only released as a limited edt so H-j plate. You might find an odd L reg in black floating around as at the time the Insurance prices shot sky high for hot hatches and dealers had trouble shifting them. Also there was a few Ltd edt Radio1 (I think that was there name) cars right at the end of the production run.

There are a few web sites and clubs that might be worth contacting.

Any more questions just mail me.

Cheers

Neal

Just to correct Neal, Miami Blue was at first a limited edition colour but then they changed their minds and it became a standard colour. I agree get a pre cat version and without power steering as well as it will lose about 10 bhp with it.

I feel they are still good cars and have not dated too much.

If you can find one in good nick...go for it

Tim

Hello.

My wife owns a 1993 205 gti 1.9. We have owned the car since July 1993 when bought from Peugeot with 40 miles.

Due to children etc. would like to sell. However it is the first car we ever bought and it has served us very well and of course is great fun to drive.

Details as follows:

black outside black 1/2 leather inside. Britax sunroof. dealer fitted at time of purchase.
47,000 miles.
K 420 LAC 1993
MOT until end July 2002
New clutch Just fitted.
no alarm but immobiliser ( disconnected ).

Therefore at the end of August I would be interested to know if any of your members would be interested in buying the car. Would ask around £2750 but would discuss if enthusiast wished to buy.

Thank you .
