MY92-96 GEMS ECU
#7
I wouldn't be wanting a silly price.... , but i'm not holding my breath i'll find a GEMS
Wouldn't like to start messing about with 4 plug to 3 plug etc. Seems the MY97/98 versions are a little light on features compared to the other versions (knock control?) and not sure a converted MY99/00 version could control my idle valve???? So like to go for the correct version.
Tony.

look on the for sale section on www.22b.com there is a Gems for sale for £750 on there.
Although it is the 3 plug type , you can get them easily changed to 4 plug type
good luck

Who would change it to a 4 plug??? You could change the loom quite easily but then the MY97 GEMS has only 23 tables and maps, the MY96 version 45.... some missing features are knock control and lambda. It also runs wasted spark ignition and not sequential.
The MY97 GEMS is most definately the poor relative of the MY96 and MY99 version. Spoke to GEMS about changing the Eproms which can be done easily but the firmware is different.
Also there are new versions of the MY96/99 implant coming soon. With spare analogue input, K-Type thermocouple input for EGT.... so probably i'll wait for these,
Cheers,
Tony.
