97/98my standard scooby dump valve
GS,
The dump valve wont affect anything, providing its working correctly. Dump valves which affect fueling by messing with the air measurements are vent to atmosphere, the standard one is a recirculating type. All that will happen is you'll (possibly) get flames out of the exhaust and lots of pops and bangs due to the overfuelling.
The filter is the one thing that might cause problems - with the MAF sensor (mass air flow).
Some induction type filters allow more debris though than the standard panel filter and these can damage the MAF. Also some filters are oiled and the oil contaminates the MAF.
Its a while since I was involved with scoobies but IIRC the MAF was either a hot film or wire type.
