I'm looking for Prodrive chip from PP. I don't need backbox, piping or anything else that comes in the package.

The only way you will get the ECU, is to buy the complete package from your local Subaru dealer.

The kit (which gets fitted by Prodrive), is designed to work as a package, and for warranty/reliability reasons, will not be sold as individual components.

 

Yeah, I khow that. The thing is that I don't care about the warranty, since I don't have it. My local dealer asks too much for PPP. And I don't need backbox and airfilter, I already have them. I'm also getting IC piping from Graham Goode. So, the only thing I need is the chip. Does anyone have removed it or replaced with PE one?

I don't think that PE replace the original chip. They modify the existing chip using a seperate board.
Why don't you just wait for the PE one?
It'll probably be better anyway!

What are the main differences between PE chip and Prodrive one?
I've seen comparison of MY99 with PE upgrade and and MY99 with PPP. The last one got better results.

Just looked at the dyno page again... I was wrong. I guess I should go for PE

And again the same question: how do I contact PE and how much is phase one conversion?

Power Eng are at 01895 255699. The PE Chip for a 99my is not available yet. the Phase 1 engine chip is somewhere around £695 or thereabouts. You have to take your car to PE as they setup the chip exactly to your car.

 

Wait... I don't really understand... What is the difference between chip for MY99 and stage 1 engine chip?
Anyways I'm too far from you guys to bring my car to PE...

I would say Russia is a very long way to go for a chip

The 99MY chip is different to all the previous ones, it is not yet possible to do anything with them, other than out and out replacement, but several companies are working on them. What year and model is your car ????

If so, as Ian says, it's really a case of wait until someone brings a chip out for it.

I've got MY99. The only upgrade russian dealers offer is PPP. You can also get other Prodrive and Sti stuff, but that's way too expensive. For ex. Prodrive suspension kit (dampers and springs) for $6000...

The only good thing is that you can get STI ver. V type R with LHD conversion.

I would suspect a long wait for the 99 "chip". It wont be a simple chip since the 99 ECU does not have a socket for external boards.

Consider also the extra stress you are putting on your engine. It won't last as long if you up the power/boost etc.
