Doesn't matter which car (would prefer Scooby/MK4 Golf) as long as it looks good and is in good condition. I am going to attempt to make a PC swivel chair from it!! Can people email me direct:

Hi,
I bought a pair of recaros while ago for just the same purpose!
One of them has been turned into a rather neat chair, and the other has been awaiting conversion but has been sat in the spare room. Don't think i'll get round to doing the other chair this decade, so u'd be welcome to buy it from me if you liked it.
The recaros are from a scooby and were part of the optional recaro package before they came with decent seats as standard.

I've not come across anything on the net showing how to do it, just bodged mine up myself. I bought a pair of Recaros a while back - I wanted to do one office swivel chair and another for playing playstation games on.
After looking at various swivel chair bases, i found that the swivel chair would be the more difficult of the two to get right as you have to get a swivel base of the right height and also one that balances and supports you properly.
So, i copped out and did the other chair first! This was much simpler. After detatching the seat runners, i bolted a square piece of MDF onto the seat runner mountings to form a base under the seat. Then i went to B&Q and bought four legs from a kitchen unit (quite short aluminium legs with some adjustment for height)
Then i just simply screwed the four legs to the wood base, job done!
The second chair has yet to be started, hence why i should sell it!
