If it came from a dealer then take it back, an engine with a manufacturing defect is at least his problem if not Subaru UK's problem. Even if it was a private purchase, contact the seller - if the car has a good Subaru S/H I'd still approach Subaru UK.
If no joy, suggest citizens advice should be next step

Would someone please advise the best place to source a recon or new engine from for a Turbo Impreza. I have unfortunately just found out that the car I bought 6 weeks ago with a oil weep has been diagnosed with a porous engine block by a Subaru dealer. I am of course heartbroken. I don't really want to be driving around in case it seizes so I need to find another engine at a reasonable price that may include fitting.
