Have you had any luck BAH.
I have wondered about going down this route as well.
They seem about as rare as rocking horse droppings
Other than link etc, there doesnt seem much choice for an MY98

What sort of cash are you willing to pay for it.
I have one & am thinking of going down the mappable ecu route which is expensive.

I have an STI ECU (board) from my 1998 STI Type R Version 5 - not sure if that's any use for you??
Good luck in sourcing one, I know ECU's are getting rare these days
