99 STI V RA preferred but anything from 97 on considered,must be clean straight car with FSH,cash waiting for right car.Thanks

 

I have an STi 5, 555 edition, Type RA, SVA'ed in Dec'99, but not registered (by a rally team owner who bought three or four of them) until 2000, so it's on an X plate. It has done 35000 miles, has been serviced (including oil change) every 5000 miles from 3000 miles onwards by Ramsport in Ruthin. I am the second owner. As well as the usual RA spec it has elec. windows, air con., 12 disc CD, Toad alarm immobiliser and a Tracker. I will put 6 months Tax and 4 new tyres on it if you are interested. My new car is arriving soon and I would like to sell over the next few months but I haven't advertised it yet. I figured it would be worth around £17K without new tyres and tax and £17.5K with them. does your car have the adjustable centre diff and roof vent?

It sounds like it's the same spec as mine, STi5 TypeRA V-Limited. It should have SWRT embossed blue front seats, a plaque showing #/1000 with 555 wrc special edition. If it is then it should have the roof vent, centre diff control, intercooler sprays, 2 pot rear brakes, quickrack, mechanical rear LSD, Air con, electric mirrors, lightweight glass, 280BHP engine etc etc. These cars are awesome and quite rare in the RA 4 door shape.

 

True enough John, but there is also a Limited non Sti 4 door RA from the same year.

The RA's are quite rare in the UK. especially the V-Ltd versions. I have only ever seen one other STi5 TypeRA V-Ltd, i would love to know how many there are in the UK.

 

That's exactly what prompted me to ask the question

From what I've heard you think they're not bad?
I have the non STi version RA limited.
I've only heard of one other like mine, never seen one though.

If you're after an RA, try and find one of the Limited one's...if you can. Wild horses wouldn't part me with my one.

John - yes my car sounds exactly the same as yours - numbered plaque on the dash 4??/1000, roof vent, adjustable diffs, intercooler spray, subaru world rally team stitching on the front seats, WRC spoiler, aluminium body and lightweight glass. I understand they are very rare in the UK. I love it, but my new car is due soon and so I have to part with it I'm afraid.

nice one, well thats 3 that i know of and all 3 are in the northwest within an hour of me.

If you want an RA, this is THE car to go for IMHO. Chrisp has a non STi MY00 RA V-Ltd, but that ones a bit wierd having ABS and no centre diff control.
