Run down.... and use one for start up..
Start set for 10mins and go back in to finish cup of tea

Just drive off boost for the last 5 mins of your trip this will cool the turbo

Yeah do the above mate. If I go for a spirited drive the last ten mins is driving it easy, never had an issue with any of my impreza's.

And like leaving it running before work... cheaper than a decent alarm with auto start..
