Very nice, very nice indeed.
Me I'd fit a passenger mirror, I know you don't need one, but I prefer having one than not.

For a very brief period back in 2009 I had a Subaru powered Beetle.
It was fitted with Nitrous Oxide, had a roll cage and a 4-speed pro-ranch gear box. The previous owner said the motor was producing 340-375 BHP.

I don't know but it was a frightening car and it was possible to get the front wheels off the ground under acceleration.

I sold it to a chap who drag races VWs. I had visions of me flying backwards into a field in a fireball everytime I looked at it.

But I like a Beetle and you have a lovely example there.

what was the Reg Dan, might know where it is now

Looking for another Bug for a Subaru conversion... seems easy in principal with a 1500 box and Subaru adapter plate.. it's just all the little bits that then take the time, would love to go with a turbo but it requires the back shelf cutting out, whereas a sport motor goes straight in with a little nibble in the engine bay each side...

The reg was MDX 800V.
The car itself was built in 1976 but it wasn't registered until 1980 for some reason.

The chap who had it off me used to kee a blog about his racing antics. He also ran a website dedicated to VW drag racing. I was from Worcester/midlands area

When he took the car he said that updates would appear on his blog so I could watch the car's progress but nothing seems to have changed on the blog since.

Here is the link;

http://www.spvw49.co.uk/

I used to have his email address and about a year after selling him the car I enquired about it. He said he had garaged it from the day he bought it and was in the process of preparing it further for drag racing.

After that I heard nothing more.

I am still intereste din knowing what happened to it though
